FactThis Innova dropped the truck-based IMV chassis entirely, switching to a front-wheel-drive unibody just to fit a hybrid.
The third-generation Innova (AG10), launched in Indonesia on 21 November 2022 as the Kijang Innova Zenix and in India on 25 November 2022 as the Innova HyCross (with a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Invicto; the Toyota Zenix in the Philippines, Innova Cross in Vietnam), switched to a front-wheel-drive unibody GA-C platform shared with the fourth-generation Noah/Voxy so it could use a hybrid powertrain the IMV platform cannot, with the wheelbase lengthened by 100 mm to 112.2 in and 170 kg less weight. Development was led by chief engineer Hideki Mizuma, the design concept was "Innovative Multipurpose Crossover", and it adds an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a dashboard-mounted gear lever, a panoramic roof, Toyota Safety Sense and second-row captain seats with "Ottoman" leg rests; manual gearboxes and diesels are no longer offered. Two engines: the 2.0-litre M20A-FKS petrol (172 hp) with a K120 Direct Shift CVT, and the 2.0-litre M20A-FXS hybrid (150 hp engine, 111 hp motor, 184 hp combined) with a fifth-generation power-split system, an eCVT and a 6.5 Ah NiMH battery under the front seats chosen for hot-weather durability.

Toyota kept the same wheelbase but little else: its own engineers put the AN140 Innova's parts carryover from the old model at just 5 percent — "a few bolts and screws."

In Indonesia the first Innova was badged Kijang Innova and sold as the fifth-generation Kijang, to keep a family line going.

The Touran quietly introduced a first for Volkswagen: electro-mechanical power steering, a segment first that varied steering weight with road speed and saved fuel by drawing no power at idle.

Romania's own president bought the first B-Max off the Craiova line, on 25 June 2012, before anyone else could.

Opel's first Zafira OPC put a 192 PS turbo four into a seven-seat minivan in 2001.

Opel's in-house tuning division built this Zafira a 240-hp turbocharged heart — turning a seven-seat family minivan into one of the quickest people-movers of its era.

Porsche co-developed this Zafira's clever fold-into-the-floor seven-seat system, marketed as Flex 7.

Vauxhall killed the Zafira Tourer in Britain because buyers had moved on to SUVs.

A fire in one Zafira wrecked up to 300 cars in a single Stavanger Airport parking garage in January 2020.

This Touran generation had a firm end date: Wolfsburg stopped production in April 2026, exactly 11 years after it started.
