The original Scout, styled by Ted Ornas as International Harvester's answer to the Jeep CJ, introduced 1960 for the 1961 model year. Gasoline International "152" inline-four standard — the same 2.5 L 152 engine carried straight into the following Scout 800, confirmed by the 800's own infobox listing it as a carryover option. Horsepower is left out: no figure is stated for the 80's own tune, only for the 800's later "Comanche 152."

The Scout II that finally reached showrooms in 1971 wasn't a last-minute design — it had been shown to management, essentially finished, more than three years earlier.

Late in 1970 the 800B offered a Sno-Star package, sold only with the six-cylinder and developed specifically for snowplowing.

The 800A Aristocrat was the last version of the original Scout body: blue and silver paint, a blue vinyl interior and a chrome roof rack.

International quietly offered a turbocharged version of the Scout 800's little four-cylinder that made 111 hp against the standard engine's 93 — real boost, in a mid-1960s farm truck.

IIHS only crash-tests the driver's corner; tested on the passenger side instead, the CX-5 showed far worse intrusion.

Despite launching from a standing start in late 2025, the i60 topped GAC Aion's own sales chart through January's seasonal slowdown.

Every Defender before this one was body-on-frame — this generation broke decades of tradition with an aluminium unibody structure instead.

Crashed on the passenger side instead of the driver's, the 2014 Forester showed far more intrusion and would have rated Marginal with the IIHS.

Subaru built a 2.5XT for the National Ski Patrol with a diamond-plate floor, a 9,500-pound winch and a toboggan on the roof.

The L405 was the first Range Rover with a fully aluminum monocoque body, cutting up to 420 kg from the outgoing steel-bodied L322.

Rear passengers get a 17.3-inch screen that extends from the roof, and a lidar sensor sits in the front of the roof.

Its range-extender variant is rated for 1,200 km on a tank and charge, over three times the car's electric-only range.
