The Fiat Multipla (Type 186), a six-seater with two rows of three seats, designed by Roberto Giolito at Centro Stile Fiat and built from 1998 to 2010 on the Fiat C1 platform of the Bravo/Brava. It was shorter than the three-door Bravo/Brava it was based on yet offered more seating and cargo volume, and wider than its rivals, with 430 litres of luggage that grows to 1,900 litres with the rear three seats removed. A concept car was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 1996, the production car was presented in Frankfurt in the autumn of 1997, sales began in Italy in November 1998 and its exterior and interior were shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1999. It was Top Gear Car of the Year for 2000. The Blupower was the first production CNG-only car, with four gas cylinders for about 670 km of range and no petrol system, and there were also petrol/CNG Bipower and petrol/LPG Gpower bifuel models. The June 2004 facelift replaced the SX and ELX trims in the UK with Dynamic, Dynamic Family and Dynamic Plus. Zotye assembled it in China as the Multiplan and M300 from 2008 to 2013.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

Opel's first Zafira OPC put a 192 PS turbo four into a seven-seat minivan in 2001.

Porsche co-developed this Zafira's clever fold-into-the-floor seven-seat system, marketed as Flex 7.

Vauxhall killed the Zafira Tourer in Britain because buyers had moved on to SUVs.

This Touran generation had a firm end date: Wolfsburg stopped production in April 2026, exactly 11 years after it started.
