A Škoda-built Toledo (Typ KG, made at Mladá Boleslav) that is closely related to the Škoda Rapid five-door liftback, both on an adaptation of the A05+ (PQ25) platform. A concept car based on it was shown at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show; sales began in Spain and Portugal towards the end of 2012 and the rest of Europe and Mexico at the start of 2013, positioned between the Ibiza and the León. It earned five stars from Euro NCAP, but critics were generally negative: Top Gear magazine put it on its October 2014 list of "The Worst Cars You Can Buy Right Now" and What Car? gave it 2 stars, though its big boot, rear legroom and frugality were praised. The Toledo CONNECT edition with Full Link and a Samsung Galaxy A3 was shown at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was pulled from the UK in November 2018 and production ended in February 2019; 1,019,636 Toledos were built across four generations.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

The hatchback-less Mk3 Toledo still paid tribute to its roots — its Renault Vel Satis-inspired rear was a deliberate nod to the original Toledo's hatchback/saloon tail.

Open the Toledo Mk2's dash and you're looking at an Audi: SEAT borrowed the first-generation A3's dashboard for its budget sedan.

A Chinese automaker built its own version of the first SEAT Toledo after acquiring a chassis from, of all places, a Mexican dealership — with SEAT's blessing.

It briefly served as senior sibling to Marquette, a GM companion brand cancelled after just one year.

Nissan hired former BMW engineers to help develop the 510's suspension, which is why period reviewers frequently compared its handling to the BMW 1600/2002.

A Trabant 601 won its class at the 1970 Monte Carlo Rally, with a second 601 right behind it in second.

The 600 was a stopgap: the P50's body over the 601's mechanicals, and for a while its estate was built alongside the new 601 saloon.

The G80 Sport brought a 370 PS twin-turbo 3.3 V6, a mesh grille and copper-tinted chrome with copper stitching to match.

The Vigor was sold only with a five-cylinder engine, an unusual configuration Honda used to fit a longer engine transversely under a short hood.

The GS/E coupe earned the nickname "German Charger" for its long hood, short deck stance borrowed from Detroit muscle cars.

This DeVille/Fleetwood was the first production car anywhere to mount its V8 sideways, Cadillac's front-drive gamble on the new C-body.
