The sixth-generation Micra is a battery-electric supermini on Renault's AmpR Small platform, shared with the Renault 5 and 4 E-Tech, and is built at Renault ElectriCity in Douai, France. Nissan made it electric-only because proposed Euro 7 rules would have raised the cost of a conventional supermini. It was teased alongside the third-generation Leaf in March 2025, unveiled on 21 May 2025 and went on sale in Europe on 1 September 2025, with a 40 kWh or 52 kWh battery.

Nissan named a 2022 Micra special edition "Kiiro" — Japanese for "yellow" — then sold it in exactly one body colour: Gunmetal Grey, with the yellow only as bumper and door trim.

A hand-built March Nismo spin-off, the Bolero A30, was sold only through a Chamber of Commerce lottery — and every one of the limited run got its own numbered dash plaque.

The K13 March/Micra broke a decades-long streak for Nissan's city car: it was the first generation to come standard with a three-cylinder engine instead of a four.

This generation spawned the Micra C+C folding-hardtop convertible, which Top Gear magazine later named one of the 13 worst cars of the previous 20 years - "as much fun as sticking chilli-infused toothpicks in your eyes."

In 2001 Japanese minimalist retailer Muji sold its own March: 1,000 stripped, badgeless K11s in marble white only, sold online to test the brand's own e-commerce.

This March's body design wasn't meant for Nissan at all — it was penned as Fiat's planned replacement for the 127, but Fiat picked Giugiaro's Uno instead, leaving Nissan the rejected shape.

Japan was a minor market for the Swift: when it passed 2 million sales in 2011, about 39% were in India and 27% in Europe, against roughly 15% at home.

To adapt the Horizon for America, Chrysler bought nearly 100 Volkswagen Rabbits purely to reverse engineer them.

The Mk3 Focus RS's AWD system could send 100 percent of engine power to the rear wheels alone — built not in Ford's home country, but at the Saarlouis plant in Germany.

In June 2003, a Mégane II became the subject of the first ever live televised crash test with a real human driver at the wheel instead of a dummy — filmed by Top Gear.

This Wagon R redesigned its rear doors specifically to kill off the D-pillar — bigger doors with built-in quarter glass solved what earlier generations needed a whole extra pillar for.

The BX was the UK's best-selling diesel car for four years from 1987, and 2,315,739 were built in all.

Six months before Suzuki retired the Fronte name for good, the CN11S's 796cc version was already being built in China under a completely different name: the Anchi 6330.

Built to use up Chrysler-Simca's parts bin, it took its engine and gearbox straight from the front-wheel-drive Simca 1100 but mounted them amidships instead.
