The fourth-generation March/Micra on the Nissan V platform (first sketches shown 1 October 2009, displayed at the 80th Geneva Motor Show), sold in more than 160 countries and built in Thailand (from 12 March 2010, the first vehicle to qualify for Thailand's Eco Car incentives), India, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, China and Taiwan, but never sold in the US (Canada from 2015); the Thai March went on sale in Japan in July 2010. The first March/Micra with a three-cylinder engine, the 1.2 L HR12DE, and from late 2011 the supercharged 1.2 L HR12DDR (Micra DIG-S). Its drag coefficient is 0.32 and it weighs from 915 kg. A 2013 facelift and a January 2021 Mexican restyle followed; India ended in April 2020, Thailand in July 2022 and, as of 2024, Mexico kept building it. The March Nismo (December 2013) kept the 1.2 L, while the Nismo S tuned the 1.5 L HR15DE to 116 PS; Autech built 30 Bolero A30s with a hand-built 150 PS 1.6 L HR16DE, sold by lottery for ¥3,564,000. The Renault Pulse was the Indian-market version.

A hand-built March Nismo spin-off, the Bolero A30, was sold only through a Chamber of Commerce lottery — and every one of the limited run got its own numbered dash plaque.

In 2001 Japanese minimalist retailer Muji sold its own March: 1,000 stripped, badgeless K11s in marble white only, sold online to test the brand's own e-commerce.

This March's body design wasn't meant for Nissan at all — it was penned as Fiat's planned replacement for the 127, but Fiat picked Giugiaro's Uno instead, leaving Nissan the rejected shape.
