FactEvery market's Pajero Sport came from one factory: Thailand built them all, whether badged Montero, Shogun or Dakar.
The second-generation Pajero Sport, built on the ladder frame of the Triton pickup, debuted at the 2008 Moscow motor show and reached Russia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East that autumn. Its design drew partly on the 2001 Pajero Evolution 2+2 concept, and production for all markets was concentrated in Thailand. It was also sold as the Montero Sport, Shogun Sport, Nativa, Challenger in Australia and Pajero Dakar in Latin America, with 2.5 and 3.2-litre diesels and 2.4-litre four and 3.0 and 3.5-litre V6 petrol engines, and five or seven seats.
