The A 45 AMG is the performance version of the third-generation (W176) A-Class: a 2-litre four-cylinder turbo (M 133, twin-scroll) with AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed sports transmission and Momentary M mode, 4MATIC all-wheel drive, 3-stage ESP with "ESP Sport Handling" mode, AMG sports suspension with independently developed front and rear axles and a high-performance braking system with 350 x 32 mm front and 330 x 22 mm rear discs, identifiable by its "twin blade" radiator grille, AMG twin-spoke light-alloy wheels and two square chrome-plated tailpipes. The engine table lists 360 PS (355 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 450 N·m (332 lb·ft) for the 2013–2015 car and 381 PS (376 hp) and 475 N·m (350 lb·ft) for the 2015–2018 facelift; at 381 PS the A 45, CLA 45 and GLA 45 had the highest specific output per litre for a four-cylinder motor in the passenger car sector at the time of their introduction, 187.5 horsepower per litre, the same as the Bugatti Chiron. It was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show with a sales release date of 8 April 2013 and Germany marketing beginning in June 2013. The facelift's Dynamic Plus package adds a mechanical locking front differential, with a claimed 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) of 4.2 seconds, 0.1 faster than the 2015 Audi RS3 and 0.4 seconds faster than the pre-facelift model. Wheelbase 2,699 mm (106.3 in), width 1,780 mm (70.1 in).
