The second Arkana (LJL) uses the CMF-B modular platform and is related to the second-generation Captur and the fifth-generation Clio; it was launched in South Korea in February 2020 as the Renault Samsung XM3 (Renault XM3 from 2022 to 2024), built at Busan, and is purely front-wheel drive, 25 mm longer than the B0-based Russian car. The Korean car has a 1.3-litre turbo petrol with a 7-speed EDC or a 1.6-litre petrol with a Jatco CVT7; in September 2020 the rebadged car was launched in Renault markets outside the CIS as the Renault Arkana, in the former Yugoslav countries as the Renault Mégane Conquest (Arkana being close to the name of the Serbian paramilitary Arkan), with a mild-hybrid 1.3-litre turbo and 7-speed EDC in Europe and, in the E-Tech Hybrid, a 1.6 L H4M with two electric machines and a 1.2 kWh lithium-ion battery producing 141 bhp (143 PS, 105 kW). It reached Australia in August 2021 and was facelifted in July 2023; European production ran 2020 to 2025 and Iranian assembly (Soroush Motor Mabna, Salafchegan) 2024 to 2025. Wheelbase 107.1 in, length 179.9 in, width 71.7 in, height 62.0 in; the kerb weight range (3,020 to 3,463 lb) is not entered.

We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

Renault had to rename this car across the former Yugoslavia — "Arkana" sounded too close to Arkan, the notorious Serbian warlord, so it sold there as the Mégane Conquest instead.

Every Defender before this one was body-on-frame — this generation broke decades of tradition with an aluminium unibody structure instead.

Crashed on the passenger side instead of the driver's, the 2014 Forester showed far more intrusion and would have rated Marginal with the IIHS.

Subaru built a 2.5XT for the National Ski Patrol with a diamond-plate floor, a 9,500-pound winch and a toboggan on the roof.

The L405 was the first Range Rover with a fully aluminum monocoque body, cutting up to 420 kg from the outgoing steel-bodied L322.

Rear passengers get a 17.3-inch screen that extends from the roof, and a lidar sensor sits in the front of the roof.

Its range-extender variant is rated for 1,200 km on a tank and charge, over three times the car's electric-only range.
