For 2022 Nissan dropped this Rogue's engine from a 2.5L four-cylinder to a 1.5L three-cylinder — and somehow came out with more power, 201 hp versus 181.

Built partly by Renault Samsung in Busan, it was the first car made in South Korea for a Japanese automaker and sold under a Japanese brand.

Renamed Rogue Select, it stayed on sale beside its own replacement through 2015, still built at Nissan's Kyushu plant in Japan.
Rivals
Same body, same money, other badges — tap any card to flip.

This Sportage generation isn't one car — Kia built two different body lengths and wheelbases for different world markets under the same name.

This Crosstrek broke a decades-long pattern: for the first time, Subaru builds the 2.5-liter Sport and Limited trims in the US, in Lafayette, Indiana, instead of shipping them all from Japan.

In China, this RAV4 generation doesn't even wear the RAV4 name — GAC Toyota sells it as the Toyota Wildlander instead, with its own front-end styling.

This Tucson isn’t one car worldwide — Hyundai builds it on two different wheelbases so different regions get different amounts of room.

GM tried a CVT in the FWD version of this Equinox generation, then quietly dropped it for 2027, putting every model on the 8-speed automatic instead.

The SK Forester's hybrid battery doesn't hide under the floor like most hybrids' — Subaru mounted it above the rear axle specifically to improve the car's front/rear weight balance.

For this generation, Honda split the HR-V nameplate in two: the rest of the world got the Vezel-based original, while North America and China got a completely different, larger HR-V built on the Civic platform.

Mazda promised a US diesel CX-5 for 2017 — it didn't actually arrive until 2019, and only for a single model year on the top Signature trim.
