The second-generation Nio ES8, code Aries, is a battery electric three-row SUV unveiled at Nio Day in December 2022 on the NT2.0 platform and built in Hefei, sold in Europe as the Nio EL8. It has a 180 kW permanent-magnet front motor and a 300 kW induction rear motor for 644 hp and 850 N·m, with a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds and a 200 km/h top speed. Buyers could choose a 75 or 100 kWh swappable pack, and a 150 kWh semi-solid-state pack was offered as a rental. It was built from 2023 to 2025.
