The third-generation GLS (X167) debuted at the 2019 New York International Auto Show and has been built since October 2019 at Vance, Alabama, replacing the X166. It is 7.7 cm longer and 2.2 cm wider than its predecessor on a 6 cm longer wheelbase, and was the first Mercedes SUV with fully electrically adjustable three rows of seats.
