FactDodge built just 531 Aspen Super Coupes for 1978, each one forced into the same dark-brown paint with matte-black fenders and roof, no other color was offered.
The Aspen (and Volaré) Super Coupe package (order code A67) combined GR60x15 Goodyear GT radial tires on 15x8-inch wheels, the "E58" 360 CID 4bbl engine, a 727HD transmission and a heavy-duty suspension with a rear sway bar with a drastically altered appearance: matte black finishes on the entire hood, tops of fenders, half the roof and both bumpers, matte black wheel well flares giving a widebody look, a front spoiler and a 3-piece trunk tail spoiler. It was offered as a design package with no choice of paint: Dodge Aspens were all Sable Tan Sunfire Metallic with orange, blue and yellow stripes. Only 531 Dodge Super Coupes (and 494 Volaré) were built. The similar "kit car" package, made in honor of NASCAR legend Richard Petty with "43" and "360" decals, was built in only 131 Dodge and 145 Plymouth versions.

A handful of 1976 Dodge Aspens ran gas turbine engines instead of V8s, as US Department of Energy test mules chasing cleaner, more efficient propulsion.

The very last car to ever roll off the line at Detroit’s legendary Dodge Main Assembly plant was a Silver Metallic Aspen R/T, before the factory closed that same day.

It briefly served as senior sibling to Marquette, a GM companion brand cancelled after just one year.

Nissan hired former BMW engineers to help develop the 510's suspension, which is why period reviewers frequently compared its handling to the BMW 1600/2002.

A Trabant 601 won its class at the 1970 Monte Carlo Rally, with a second 601 right behind it in second.

The 600 was a stopgap: the P50's body over the 601's mechanicals, and for a while its estate was built alongside the new 601 saloon.

The G80 Sport brought a 370 PS twin-turbo 3.3 V6, a mesh grille and copper-tinted chrome with copper stitching to match.

The Vigor was sold only with a five-cylinder engine, an unusual configuration Honda used to fit a longer engine transversely under a short hood.

The GS/E coupe earned the nickname "German Charger" for its long hood, short deck stance borrowed from Detroit muscle cars.

This DeVille/Fleetwood was the first production car anywhere to mount its V8 sideways, Cadillac's front-drive gamble on the new C-body.
