The second-generation Chery Tiggo 8, code T1G, was announced in China on 27 September 2025, after the similar Lepas L8 was introduced for export markets in April 2025 as the first model of the export-only Lepas marque. In China it is marketed as the "fifth-generation" Tiggo 8, a two-row five-seater offered with two front designs, the Tiger and the Leopard. It rides on the T1X platform with front-wheel drive and 1.6- or 2.0-litre turbo petrol engines; the plug-in hybrid version, with a 1.5-litre turbo, is sold in China as the Chery Fulwin T8.
