A G20-generation 3 Series (340i/M340i xDrive) upgraded by AC Schnitzer, the Aachen, Germany tuner founded in 1987 and one of BMW's longest-running independent partners (AC Schnitzer also runs BMW's factory-backed DTM and GT programs through its sister company Schnitzer Motorsport). The ACS3 package pairs AC Schnitzer's own aero kit -- front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser -- and forged wheels with a documented ECU recalibration over the stock B58 turbo six, sold as a catalogued, warrantied upgrade rather than a one-off commission.

The new M Performance 3 Series can deliberately break its own traction: the M350 xDrive's "Drift Moment" mode temporarily switches the car to rear-wheel drive just so it can drift.

This 3 Series isn't really one car — the gas G50 and the electric NA0 look nearly identical and share a badge, but BMW built them on two completely unrelated platforms.

BMW tried charging G20 owners an annual subscription just to use Apple CarPlay — hardware already built into the car that cost BMW nothing to keep running. The backlash killed the fee within months.

BMW launched this generation inside the Munich Olympic Stadium in July 1975, and never once built an M3 version of it.

A Trabant 601 won its class at the 1970 Monte Carlo Rally, with a second 601 right behind it in second.

The 600 was a stopgap: the P50's body over the 601's mechanicals, and for a while its estate was built alongside the new 601 saloon.

The G80 Sport brought a 370 PS twin-turbo 3.3 V6, a mesh grille and copper-tinted chrome with copper stitching to match.
