FactThis Westminster's body did double duty: the same shell underpinned a Rolls-Royce-engined Vanden Plas Princess, and even shaped a prototype Bentley.
The final major update arrived in 1961 with the A110 Westminster, which had an extended (by 2 in) wheelbase, allowing more space in the rear compartment as well as improving the roadholding, and a floor-mounted gear lever; 13 in wheels were substituted in 1964's Mark II models. Wolseley produced a 6/110 version, and there was a Vanden Plas Princess Mark II with the C-Series engine, now uprated to 120 hp. The Westminster range was finally replaced by the Austin 3-Litre in 1968, and 26,105 A110s were built.

The A99 Westminster's handsome Pininfarina body has a secret twin — the same design lineage, by way of the Lancia Flaminia, also gave the world the Peugeot 404's shape.

An Austin A95 sits in the background of one of history's most haunting photographs — Thich Quang Duc's 1963 Saigon self-immolation. The actual car is still on display at a pagoda in Huế today.

"A90" wasn't a new badge — Austin had already worn it out on the unrelated 1948-52 Atlantic before handing it to this Westminster.

It briefly served as senior sibling to Marquette, a GM companion brand cancelled after just one year.

Nissan hired former BMW engineers to help develop the 510's suspension, which is why period reviewers frequently compared its handling to the BMW 1600/2002.

A Trabant 601 won its class at the 1970 Monte Carlo Rally, with a second 601 right behind it in second.

The 600 was a stopgap: the P50's body over the 601's mechanicals, and for a while its estate was built alongside the new 601 saloon.

The G80 Sport brought a 370 PS twin-turbo 3.3 V6, a mesh grille and copper-tinted chrome with copper stitching to match.

The Vigor was sold only with a five-cylinder engine, an unusual configuration Honda used to fit a longer engine transversely under a short hood.

The GS/E coupe earned the nickname "German Charger" for its long hood, short deck stance borrowed from Detroit muscle cars.

This DeVille/Fleetwood was the first production car anywhere to mount its V8 sideways, Cadillac's front-drive gamble on the new C-body.
