The second-generation AITO M7 is a large SUV built in Chongqing on the Seres MF platform, shown in official photos by HIMA on July 28, 2025 and launched in September 2025, replacing the original M7 with an entirely new model styled like the M8. It comes as a range-extender or battery electric car with five or six seats; every version has a 227 kW Huawei DriveONE motor on the rear axle, and all-wheel-drive versions add an induction motor in front. The range extender uses a Seres 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with a 37 or 53.4 kWh battery, and the EV a 100 kWh pack. It debuts Huawei's Limera in-cabin LiDAR.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

AITO engineered the M7's reclining rear seats down to the degree: the 'Zero Gravity Seats' hold a precise 113-degree angle between thighs and torso, said to improve blood circulation.

Every Defender before this one was body-on-frame — this generation broke decades of tradition with an aluminium unibody structure instead.

Crashed on the passenger side instead of the driver's, the 2014 Forester showed far more intrusion and would have rated Marginal with the IIHS.
