FactVietnam's first mass-produced EV was designed by a Chinese contractor, and in 2025 VinFast quietly renamed it Nerio Green for taxi fleets.
The VinFast VF e34, VinFast's first battery-electric model and the first EV manufactured and sold in Vietnam, was introduced in January 2021 (codenamed VinFast SCP, developed by Chinese ODM Shanghai Launch Automotive / LS Auto alongside the VinFast VF 5), with first customer deliveries in December 2021; since 2025 it has been renamed VinFast Nerio Green (also VinFast Limo Green in Indonesia as a Green SM taxi) to emphasise ride-hailing use, while remaining on retail sale. Its 110 kW (150 PS) permanent-magnet motor draws on a 44.5 kWh battery for a claimed 300 km range (285 km NEDC). Front-motor, front-wheel drive; wheelbase 2,611 mm (102.8 in), length 4,300 mm (169.3 in), width 1,793 mm (70.6 in), height 1,613 mm (63.5 in), curb weight 1,490 kg (3,285 lb).
