For 1946 the Type I body was replaced by the 98 in wheelbase one used on the H-type 10-4, painted in black, maroon or blue, and the 10 and 12 hp cars sold for the same price; in 1947 material shortages replaced leather seats with cloth ones. Production continued until 1948 when the Wyvern replaced it, and combined production of the 10-4 and 12-4 was 44,047. The page lists the 12-4's 1442 cc engine for the whole range and does not restate it for the HIX.

The G80 Sport brought a 370 PS twin-turbo 3.3 V6, a mesh grille and copper-tinted chrome with copper stitching to match.

The Vigor was sold only with a five-cylinder engine, an unusual configuration Honda used to fit a longer engine transversely under a short hood.

This DeVille/Fleetwood was the first production car anywhere to mount its V8 sideways, Cadillac's front-drive gamble on the new C-body.
