FactThe Crown Signia replaced the Toyota Venza in North America, which was discontinued at the end of the 2024 model year.
The Crown Estate is the fourth body style of the sixteenth-generation Crown family, a crossover with slightly low-roof styling previewed as a mock-up in July 2022. It went on sale in North America in June 2024 for the 2025 model year as the Crown Signia, replacing the smaller Venza, in XLE and Limited trims with a 2.5-litre hybrid and electric all-wheel drive. After delays, including one caused by a certification scandal, the Crown Estate went on sale in Japan on 13 March 2025 in RS plug-in hybrid and Z hybrid trims. It is built at the Tsutsumi plant in Toyota City on the TNGA GA-K platform.

Every Defender before this one was body-on-frame — this generation broke decades of tradition with an aluminium unibody structure instead.

Crashed on the passenger side instead of the driver's, the 2014 Forester showed far more intrusion and would have rated Marginal with the IIHS.

Subaru built a 2.5XT for the National Ski Patrol with a diamond-plate floor, a 9,500-pound winch and a toboggan on the roof.

The L405 was the first Range Rover with a fully aluminum monocoque body, cutting up to 420 kg from the outgoing steel-bodied L322.

Its range-extender variant is rated for 1,200 km on a tank and charge, over three times the car's electric-only range.
