FactToyota quietly dropped the bZ4X name in North America for 2025, rebranding it simply bZ.
The bZ4X is a battery electric compact crossover built since April 2022, the first vehicle on the e-TNGA platform co-developed by Toyota and Subaru; Subaru sells it as the Solterra and Lexus offers the sibling RZ. Launched with a 201 hp front-motor or 215 hp dual-motor layout, it received a major refresh in 2025 with more efficient motors, improved cooling and higher outputs of 164 hp (Standard Range FWD), 221 hp (Long Range FWD) and 338 hp (Long Range AWD). With the refresh it was renamed simply Toyota bZ in North America and Ireland. A lengthened wagon-like version, the bZ Woodland in North America and bZ4X Touring in Europe, is 140 mm longer and 20 mm taller, uses a single 74.7 kWh battery and has been built by Subaru from February 2026.

Owning one
An estimate, for the AWD (18inch Wheels) trim: fuel on its EPA figure and a dated national price, upkeep on a per-mile average for the kind of car it is.

IIHS only crash-tests the driver's corner; tested on the passenger side instead, the CX-5 showed far worse intrusion.

Despite launching from a standing start in late 2025, the i60 topped GAC Aion's own sales chart through January's seasonal slowdown.

Every Defender before this one was body-on-frame — this generation broke decades of tradition with an aluminium unibody structure instead.

Crashed on the passenger side instead of the driver's, the 2014 Forester showed far more intrusion and would have rated Marginal with the IIHS.

Subaru built a 2.5XT for the National Ski Patrol with a diamond-plate floor, a 9,500-pound winch and a toboggan on the roof.

The L405 was the first Range Rover with a fully aluminum monocoque body, cutting up to 420 kg from the outgoing steel-bodied L322.

Rear passengers get a 17.3-inch screen that extends from the roof, and a lidar sensor sits in the front of the roof.
