FactThis Coaster generation swapped a two-piece folding bus door for a single-piece unit, part of a 1982 wraparound-windscreen redesign.
In May 1982 the Coaster received a major update to its body: a wraparound front windscreen and thicker rear pillars, with the two-piece folding passenger door of the high-roof models replaced by a single-piece door. The 20R petrol was dropped and the 2B diesel replaced by the 3,431 cc (3.4 L) 3B diesel for the BB20, while the 22R continued on the RB20; it was available in 16-, 17-, 20-, 21-, 22- and 26-seat models. Later diesel variants included the 3B/13B/14B four-cylinders (BB21/BB22/BB23, 26 passengers), the 2H six (HB30, 30 passengers), the 12H-T turbo six for EX models with a sliding door, the 1HD-T turbo six for EX models (1989–1993) and the 1HZ six (HZB30, 1990–1993).
