The Toyota Etios is a subcompact car line of four-door saloons and five-door hatchbacks (the hatchback carrying the "Liva" and "Valco" suffixes in India and Indonesia) produced by Toyota from 2010 to 2023 on the low-cost EFC (Entry Family Car) platform, derived from the NBC platform after it was first planned on the Yaris platform. Aimed at the Dacia/Renault Logan with India and Brazil as manufacturing bases (Toyota invested $350 million in a second Indian plant with an initial capacity of about 100,000 a year), the saloon launched in December 2010 and the hatchback in June 2011; Etios totalled 100,000 sales in India by May 2012 and the Indian car was over 90% localised by 2013. The name comes from the Greek "ethos" (spirit, character and ideals), Liva from "live your life" and Valco from "value and comfort". It was updated in March 2013, November 2014 and September 2016, and the crossover-inspired Etios Cross, based on the Liva, followed in 2014. Indian production stopped in March 2020 with Bharat Stage 6 and the Yaris XP150 saloon and the Baleno-based Glanza took over; Brazil built 620,000 to March 2021, discontinued it in April 2021 and continued for export until mid-2023, and the Brazilian saloon and hatchback run flex-fuel engines from E20/E25 to hydrous E100. The Etios sedan's 562-litre boot is the largest in its segment in Argentina (2022), bigger than the Corolla's 470 litres.

It briefly served as senior sibling to Marquette, a GM companion brand cancelled after just one year.

Nissan hired former BMW engineers to help develop the 510's suspension, which is why period reviewers frequently compared its handling to the BMW 1600/2002.

A Trabant 601 won its class at the 1970 Monte Carlo Rally, with a second 601 right behind it in second.

The 600 was a stopgap: the P50's body over the 601's mechanicals, and for a while its estate was built alongside the new 601 saloon.

The G80 Sport brought a 370 PS twin-turbo 3.3 V6, a mesh grille and copper-tinted chrome with copper stitching to match.

The Vigor was sold only with a five-cylinder engine, an unusual configuration Honda used to fit a longer engine transversely under a short hood.

The GS/E coupe earned the nickname "German Charger" for its long hood, short deck stance borrowed from Detroit muscle cars.

This DeVille/Fleetwood was the first production car anywhere to mount its V8 sideways, Cadillac's front-drive gamble on the new C-body.
