FactTata moved the Tigor's boot hinges to keep it under 4 metres for India's tax break, yet still gained 49 litres over the Zest.
The Tata Tigor, a subcompact sedan on the Tata Tiago's platform (project 'Kite 5'), was launched in India in March 2017 to replace the unsuccessful Tata Zest; at 3,994 mm it stays just inside India's 4-metre tax-break limit despite a larger 419-litre boot than the Zest's 370 litres, via hinges relocated near the boot opening, and a fastback-like roofline. Renamed Tata Aeris for a third facelift from 2026. Engines shared with the Tiago: a 1.2-litre Revotron three (petrol/CNG) or turbo petrol, and a 1.05-litre Revotorq turbodiesel three, plus a Tigor EV with a 55 kW Ziptron motor and 26 kWh LFP battery (a 30 kW Electra motor version was sold as the Tata X Pres-T EV). Front engine, front-wheel drive; wheelbase 2,450 mm (96.5 in), length 3,995 mm (157.3 in), width 1,677 mm (66.0 in), height 1,532 mm (60.3 in).

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

Nissan hired former BMW engineers to help develop the 510's suspension, which is why period reviewers frequently compared its handling to the BMW 1600/2002.

A Trabant 601 won its class at the 1970 Monte Carlo Rally, with a second 601 right behind it in second.

The 600 was a stopgap: the P50's body over the 601's mechanicals, and for a while its estate was built alongside the new 601 saloon.

The G80 Sport brought a 370 PS twin-turbo 3.3 V6, a mesh grille and copper-tinted chrome with copper stitching to match.

This DeVille/Fleetwood was the first production car anywhere to mount its V8 sideways, Cadillac's front-drive gamble on the new C-body.
