The second-generation MR Wagon, previewed at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show in 2005 by the "Mom's Personal Wagon" concept (food trays, a front bench seat and pillarless left-side doors), went on sale on 20 January 2006 (the Moco on 1 February) with a design informed by a mother driving small children: designers studied four-year-olds getting in and out, giving a step next to the rear seat, a wide arm rest, an upright C-pillar and doors that open to 80 degrees instead of 66. It had a new keyless entry and start system, plenty of storage, and the same K6A engine choices as the first generation (naturally aspirated or turbo), now with a four-speed automatic whose shifter moved to the instrument panel. The chassis code is MF22S for both front- and four-wheel drive, the MR Wagon and Moco are almost identical apart from their front ends, and it was neither built nor sold outside Japan.
