FactŠkoda renamed the actual town of Kodiak, Alaska to Kodiaq for a day in 2016, despite never selling the SUV in the US.
Škoda's first full-size SUV, on the Volkswagen Group MQB A2 platform shared with the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and SEAT Tarraco, designed by Jozef Kabaň and Dalibor Pantůček with optional three-row seating. It was previewed as the Vision S concept at the March 2016 Geneva Motor Show (Škoda had registered the name in December 2006), introduced at the Paris Motor Show on 29 September 2016 and delivered from February 2017; in 2016 the town of Kodiak, Alaska was renamed Kodiaq for a day for the campaign, although the SUV is not sold in the US. It was the first Škoda with Area View, Tow Assist, Manoeuvre Assist and Predictive Pedestrian Protection. The Scout (ground clearance up from 187 to 194 mm) and Sportline came at Geneva in March 2017; the RS (vRS in the UK) at the October 2018 Paris show with a 240 PS bi-turbo diesel and 500 N·m, holding the Nürburgring record for a seven-seat SUV and later switching to a 245 PS 2.0 TSI, with British police using vRS models from 2019. A China-only Kodiaq GT coupé arrived in November 2018 and an April 2021 facelift added matrix LED headlights. Top Gear magazine named it "Best Family Car in the World" in November 2016.

We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
