The SEAT Arona is a subcompact crossover SUV (B-segment) manufactured by SEAT since 2017, the smallest crossover SUV offered by the Spanish brand, slotting in below the Ateca and the Tarraco seven-seater. SEAT launched three new sport utility vehicles between 2016 and 2019 owing to the growing popularity of the type: the Ateca in 2016, the Arona, and the mid-size Tarraco in 2018. The Ibiza-based crossover was first presented in Barcelona on 26 June 2017 and shown to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017, on the same platform as the Ibiza, which also underpins the Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen T-Cross and Škoda Kamiq. A facelift was revealed on 15 April 2021, with updated exterior styling, all-LED lighting, a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and new advanced driving safety features. A CNG version with a 1.0-litre TGI engine was introduced in September 2018.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

IIHS only crash-tests the driver's corner; tested on the passenger side instead, the CX-5 showed far worse intrusion.

Every Defender before this one was body-on-frame — this generation broke decades of tradition with an aluminium unibody structure instead.

Crashed on the passenger side instead of the driver's, the 2014 Forester showed far more intrusion and would have rated Marginal with the IIHS.
