FactA one-off 607 landaulet trimmed in Hermès leather carried President Sarkozy to his 2007 inauguration.
The 607, an executive car built by Peugeot from September 1999 to June 2010 to replace the 605, designed by Murat Günak. It used its predecessor's chassis under an all-new, more modern exterior, with a completely new engine range of 2.2 and 3.0 petrol and 2.2 diesel. It was built at Sochaux until March 2009, with assembly moved to Rennes in July that year, and in France it was often chosen for official government use. Equipment was high, with air conditioning, CD player, electric windows, eight airbags, ABS, tyre-pressure monitor and AMVAR nine-stage electronic damping control available. It was restyled in November 2004 with a new front end and the 2.7 HDi V6, and the 2.0 and 2.2 diesels gained power and a six-speed transmission like the newly introduced 407; the 607 left the UK in 2008. A one-off Paladine landaulet built with Heuliez and Hermès leather was presented at Geneva in March 2000 and used by President Sarkozy for his 2007 inauguration. The 607 and the smaller 407 were superseded by the 508 in March 2011.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

Nissan hired former BMW engineers to help develop the 510's suspension, which is why period reviewers frequently compared its handling to the BMW 1600/2002.

A Trabant 601 won its class at the 1970 Monte Carlo Rally, with a second 601 right behind it in second.

The 600 was a stopgap: the P50's body over the 601's mechanicals, and for a while its estate was built alongside the new 601 saloon.

The G80 Sport brought a 370 PS twin-turbo 3.3 V6, a mesh grille and copper-tinted chrome with copper stitching to match.

This DeVille/Fleetwood was the first production car anywhere to mount its V8 sideways, Cadillac's front-drive gamble on the new C-body.
