FactThe QV-E exists because Malaysia's government ordered a homegrown EV, built after Daihatsu had no donor model to give.
The Perodua QV-E (model code P101) is Perodua's first electric car, a battery-electric 'sportback crossover' launched on 1 December 2025 and built at Sungai Choh, Selangor, since December 2025. It was developed by Perodua independently of its parent Daihatsu, in two years, on a modular platform co-developed with Magna Steyr, following the eMO concepts of 2024 and 2025. A 150 kW front motor drives the front wheels from a 52.5 kWh CATL LFP battery, making it the most powerful and fastest Perodua yet. Its name stands for 'Quest for Visionary Electric Vehicle'.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
