The Opel Grandland (Vauxhall Grandland in the United Kingdom) is a compact crossover SUV produced by Opel, originally known as the Opel and Vauxhall Grandland X until the facelift of the first generation, when it dropped the X suffix. It was introduced as a replacement for the Opel Antara and also replaced the Opel Zafira in 2019; plans for the Grandland X were known as early as May 2012, and it was officially revealed on 18 April 2017 as Opel's flagship crossover SUV, premiering at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The first generation (2017–2024) was built at Sochaux, France, Eisenach, Germany and Walvis Bay, Namibia, on the PSA EMP2 platform shared with the Citroën C5 Aircross, DS 7 Crossback and the Peugeot 3008 II and 5008 II, designed by Uwe Müller. Engines were the 1.2 EB2DTS turbo three-cylinder (130 hp), the 1.6 EP6FDT turbo four-cylinder (178 hp), a 1.6 turbo plug-in hybrid with one or two electric motors integrated with the eEAT8 gearbox and a 13.2 kWh battery (201 hp), and 1.5 DV5, 1.6 DV6F and 2.0 DW10 BlueHDi diesels (118 to 178 hp), with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic in front- or all-wheel drive. The second generation was released in April 2024 on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

IIHS only crash-tests the driver's corner; tested on the passenger side instead, the CX-5 showed far worse intrusion.

Despite launching from a standing start in late 2025, the i60 topped GAC Aion's own sales chart through January's seasonal slowdown.

Every Defender before this one was body-on-frame — this generation broke decades of tradition with an aluminium unibody structure instead.

Crashed on the passenger side instead of the driver's, the 2014 Forester showed far more intrusion and would have rated Marginal with the IIHS.

Subaru built a 2.5XT for the National Ski Patrol with a diamond-plate floor, a 9,500-pound winch and a toboggan on the roof.

The L405 was the first Range Rover with a fully aluminum monocoque body, cutting up to 420 kg from the outgoing steel-bodied L322.

Rear passengers get a 17.3-inch screen that extends from the roof, and a lidar sensor sits in the front of the roof.

Its range-extender variant is rated for 1,200 km on a tank and charge, over three times the car's electric-only range.
