FactThe RZ 450e pairs a motor borrowed from the front-wheel-drive bZ4X with the rear motor of its all-wheel-drive version.
The RZ is a battery electric luxury crossover built by Toyota for Lexus at the Motomachi plant since 2023, on the e-TNGA platform shared with the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra; it is the first dedicated battery electric Lexus sold worldwide. Previewed by the LF-Z Electrified concept in March 2021 and unveiled on 20 April 2022, it went on sale initially as the RZ 450e with Lexus' Direct4 all-wheel drive and optional steer-by-wire. The RZ 450e pairs a front motor from the front-wheel-drive bZ4X with the rear motor of the all-wheel-drive version and uses the same 71.4 kWh battery. In June 2025 Lexus announced an update with improved battery and motor output and a new F Sport version with a simulated manual gearshift.
