FactThe C11 runs on Leapmotor's own in-house Lingxin 01 chip for Level 3 autonomous driving and self-parking — a piece of silicon most carmakers buy in rather than build themselves.
The Leapmotor C11, revealed at the December 2020 Auto Guangzhou show and Leapmotor's third model, went on sale in China in 2021 as either a pure battery-electric or, from the 2023 model year, a range-extended (EREV) crossover with a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder generator. It runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 and Leapmotor's own Lingxin 01 chip (paired with a Huawei Kirin A1) for Level 3 ADAS and self-parking, with 12 cameras for a 360-degree view. The range-topping EV uses a 90 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system making 400 kW (543 PS, 536 hp) for 550 km NEDC range. Rear-motor RWD, dual-motor AWD (EV) or front-engine/front-motor RWD (EREV); wheelbase 2,930 mm (115.4 in), length 4,750 mm (187.0 in, 4,780 mm for EREV), width 1,905 mm (75.0 in), height 1,675 mm (65.9 in), curb weight 2,330 kg (5,140 lb).

Every Defender before this one was body-on-frame — this generation broke decades of tradition with an aluminium unibody structure instead.

Crashed on the passenger side instead of the driver's, the 2014 Forester showed far more intrusion and would have rated Marginal with the IIHS.
