FactLamborghini planned 4,000 Aventadors and built 5,000 before the run ended.
The Aventador (internal code LB834) is a mid-engine two-seat sports car launched on 28 February 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show to replace the Murciélago as Lamborghini's flagship, named after a Spanish fighting bull. The LP 700-4 uses Lamborghini's 6.5-litre L539 V12, its fifth in-house engine, with a 7-speed Graziano ISR single-clutch automated manual and a Haldex all-wheel-drive system. The Roadster, with two removable carbon-fibre roof panels, was announced for production on 27 December 2012. Production was planned at 4,000 cars, but 5,000 had been built by 2016.

The very last Aventador built was painted Azzurro Flake blue with silver wheels, an homage to a one-of-a-kind 1968 Miura P400.

The SVJ 63 wore a white livery with a big number 63 and was limited to 63 cars, for Lamborghini's founding year of 1963.

The S's drive-mode selector added a fourth setting beside Strada, Sport and Corsa: a custom mode Lamborghini named Ego.

Road & Track timed an SV from 0 to 150 mph in 12.8 seconds and from 0 to 200 mph in 33.5.

Only 200 Aventadors ever wore Giallo Maggio, a paint made exclusively for the 50th-anniversary car.

Lamborghini built the Aventador's carbon monocoque from just 8 moulds, each rated for roughly 500 uses — a hard production ceiling baked in from day one.

Lamborghini built exactly one Aventador J, skipped air conditioning and a radio for weight, and sold it for $2.8 million.

The CTR Anniversary looks like a 911 but Ruf built its carbon monocoque from scratch, no Porsche body underneath.

The 228's coupe styling hides a sedan underneath: Maserati stretched it onto the longer four-door Biturbo chassis to make room for its biggest V6, which is literally where the name comes from — 2-door, 2.8 litre.

Switching to fuel injection let this V8 finally shed its trademark bonnet bulge — and only 405 of these flat-hooded Series 5 cars were built before the whole model retired in 1989.

Japanese buyers got a secret weapon in their MX-6 — the JDM-only KL-ZE V6 made about 40 more horsepower than the engine sold in the exact same car in North America.

An American tuner, Callaway Cars, built twin-turbo conversions of the GTV6 that boosted its V6 by fifty percent to 230 hp — turning Alfa's grand tourer into something far quicker than the factory ever intended.
