FactAvtoVAZ's first clean-sheet platform in years became Russia's best-selling car by 2018, then vanished from EU showrooms after 2022.
The Lada Vesta is a compact car produced by the Russian car company AvtoVAZ since 2015. It was presented in August 2014 during the Moscow International Automobile Salon and went into mass production on 25 September 2015 in Izhevsk, with sales starting on 25 November 2015. It was AvtoVAZ's first completely new platform in several years, launched on time with the highest crash safety rating in its class, and within days of going on sale it became one of the best-selling cars in the Russian market; in 2018 it became the best-selling car in Russia. A station wagon and a higher-riding "Cross" version of the wagon were introduced in September 2017, and a "Cross" version of the sedan in the first half of 2018. The Vesta CNG can use compressed natural gas or gasoline. AvtoVAZ began exports to the European Union in early 2017, to countries such as Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia, with only the 1.6-litre engine sold in the EU; exports ended after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

The 600 was a stopgap: the P50's body over the 601's mechanicals, and for a while its estate was built alongside the new 601 saloon.

The Vigor was sold only with a five-cylinder engine, an unusual configuration Honda used to fit a longer engine transversely under a short hood.

The GS/E coupe earned the nickname "German Charger" for its long hood, short deck stance borrowed from Detroit muscle cars.

This DeVille/Fleetwood was the first production car anywhere to mount its V8 sideways, Cadillac's front-drive gamble on the new C-body.
