The Seltos grew from two concept cars shown in 2018 and was built in three versions: the Korean SP2, the shorter Indian SP2i and the Chinese SP2c, sold in China as the KX3. The SP2 rides on the Hyundai-Kia B-SUV platform shared with the Hyundai Kona and offers front- or all-wheel drive, while the SP2i is front-wheel drive only. In India, where it was Kia's first product, it launched on 22 August 2019 and became the country's best-selling SUV in October 2019.
