FactChina gets the EV5 first: it's the first Kia EV ever exported out of a Chinese factory.
The Kia EV5 is a battery-electric D-segment mid-size crossover SUV produced by Kia since 2023 (China by Jiangsu Yueda Kia; South Korea from 2025; also assembled in Singapore), the third model in the "EV" range after the EV6 and EV9 and its first dedicated EV on the 400-volt architecture and the first Kia EV exported from China. A concept was revealed in China on 20 March 2023 (sustainable interior materials such as seaweed extract and recycled bottles) and the production version at the August 2023 Chengdu Motor Show, in the "Opposites United" language with a new "Digital Tiger Face". Chinese cars use an LFP battery from FinDreams and a 160 kW (215 hp) motor with 310 N·m; power runs 160–230 kW (215–308 hp) with front-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive, and batteries of 60.3 kWh NMC, 64.2 kWh LFP, 81.4 kWh NMC or 88.1 kWh LFP (ranges are not entered, since WLTP/NEDC/CLTC figures are not comparable). Peak DC fast charging is 150 kW (10–80% in about 30 minutes on a 400 V charger). In Thailand the 160 kW front-drive version comes in Light, Air and Earth Long Range and the 230 kW dual-motor in the Earth Exclusive.

Owning one
An estimate, for the EV5 dual motor AWD (230 kW, 308 hp) trim: fuel on its EPA figure and a dated national price, upkeep on a per-mile average for the kind of car it is.

Despite launching from a standing start in late 2025, the i60 topped GAC Aion's own sales chart through January's seasonal slowdown.

Every Defender before this one was body-on-frame — this generation broke decades of tradition with an aluminium unibody structure instead.

Crashed on the passenger side instead of the driver's, the 2014 Forester showed far more intrusion and would have rated Marginal with the IIHS.
