FactThe QX50's engine changes its own compression ratio on the fly, Nissan's VC-T system, a world first in a production car.
The second-generation QX50 (J55) was presented at the 2017 LA Auto Show as a 2019 model and built from November 2017 at the Nissan–Daimler COMPAS plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and in Dalian, China. It introduced the turbocharged 2.0-litre KR20DDET with Nissan's VC-T variable compression ratio system, rated at 268 hp, driving the front or all four wheels through an Xtronic CVT. A sloped-roof "coupé SUV" version, the QX55, followed for the 2022 model year. In January 2025 Infiniti announced that the QX50 and QX55 would be discontinued by the end of 2025.
