FactHyundai built its first American four-door pickup from a crossover platform, then confirmed plans to kill it off after one generation.
The Santa Cruz is a four-door compact pickup built on the Tucson's unibody platform at Hyundai's plant in Montgomery, Alabama, released in 2021 for the 2022 model year. It is the first four-door pickup Hyundai has sold in North America, previewed by a concept of the same name at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. A naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four is US-only; a turbocharged 2.5-litre is optional in the US and standard in Canada. Hyundai is reported to be ending production in 2026.
