FactHyundai's biggest EV started life as a three-row concept called Seven, shown years before anyone could buy the real thing.
The Ioniq 9 (model code ME1) is a three-row battery electric mid-size crossover, the third Ioniq-branded model and Hyundai's largest electric SUV, positioned as an electric alternative to the Palisade. It was previewed by the Seven concept at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show and is built at Asan in South Korea and at the Metaplant in Georgia. It uses a 110.3 kWh battery on the E-GMP platform, with rear-wheel-drive, all-wheel-drive and AWD Performance versions; it reached North America in May 2025.
