The first Nexo (FE) was a hydrogen fuel-cell crossover built in Ulsan from 2018 to 2025, released in South Korea in March 2018 and later sold in California, the UK and, on lease, Australia. It used three hydrogen tanks and came with Hyundai's blind-spot view monitor and highway driving assist. South Korean sales passed 10,000 by October 2020.
