The first Hyundai Genesis (BH) was announced in Seoul and unveiled at the 2008 North American International Auto Show as a rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan, sold worldwide except Europe and as the Rohens in China. It had multi-link front and five-link rear suspension and V6 or V8 engines, with near-even weight distribution. Its platform also underpinned the Genesis Coupe, the second Equus and the Kia K9.
