FactThe GV80 is Genesis's first SUV ever, and it used aluminum for the hood, doors and tailgate from day one.
The GV80, internally codenamed JX1, is a mid-size luxury crossover and the first Genesis SUV, officially unveiled in January 2020 and built in Ulsan. It rides on the rear-wheel-drive M3 platform shared with the G80, with an aluminium hood, doors and tailgate. Engines are a 2.5-litre turbo four, a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 (later with a 48 V electric supercharger) and a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel. A GV80 Coupe (JX1C) joined the range in 2024.
