FactThe 2020 facelift's new quad lamps made the G70 the last Genesis sedan to adopt the family face, and critics said the old taillights looked better anyway.
The G70 debuted on 15 September 2017 in Seoul as Genesis's third model and its entry-level compact executive sedan, below the G80 and G90. It shares its rear-wheel-drive platform and engines with the Kia Stinger but uses a shorter wheelbase and a conventional sedan body; all-wheel drive was also offered. It was named 2019 North American Car of the Year, was facelifted in 2020, and gained a shooting brake for Europe in 2021.

Under the luxury badge, the G70 is mechanically a Kia Stinger — same rear-wheel-drive platform, same engines, just a shorter wheelbase and a trunk instead of the Stinger's liftback.
