The Ford Explorer EV (model code CX740) is a battery-electric compact crossover built at Cologne, Germany, from June 2024 and sold mainly in Europe. It is based on the Volkswagen Group MEB platform with a Volkswagen-supplied powertrain, related to the Volkswagen ID.4 and Škoda Enyaq, and takes its name from the larger American Explorer. Its launch was pushed back from late 2023 to 2024 because of new battery regulations. The base model is single-motor and rear-wheel drive; the flagship has dual motors with a combined 335 bhp.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
