FactDodge built three nearly identical cab-forward sedans at once, ranking this Stratus deliberately between the Cirrus and Breeze.
The Dodge Stratus was introduced in December 1994 for the 1995 model year as the mid-range model of Chrysler's "cab-forward" JA platform trio, between the more luxurious Chrysler Cirrus and the value-oriented Plymouth Breeze. It was a four-door sedan built at Sterling Heights, Michigan, in base (later SE) and sportier ES trims. The base car had a 2.0 litre SOHC four, with a 2.4 litre DOHC four and a 2.5 litre Mitsubishi V6 optional, and a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.
