Dacia's five-door hatchback on the Logan's B0 platform, designed at Renault Design Barcelona and developed at the Technocentre near Paris with a slightly shorter wheelbase than the Logan sedan it derives from. Renault sold it in Brazil from 2007 (production there to 2014, Colombia to 2015), while the Romanian Dacia version was built at Mioveni from 2008 to 2012. The Sandero Stepway crossover followed in Brazil in October 2008 and, under the Dacia brand, was unveiled in Europe at the Barcelona show on 7 May 2009 with sales from September 2009. Engines ran from a 1.2 16v to a 1.6 16v and the 1.5 dCi diesel, with Hi-Flex ethanol and LPG variants in some markets. A 4WD Stepway prototype was made in 2010 by the University of Pitesti.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.

This generation of the budget-priced Sandero has done something no other car has managed: become Europe's best-selling car to private buyers several years running.

When the second-generation Sandero reached the UK in 2013, it didn't just join the lineup quietly — it landed as the single most affordable new car sold in the country.
