FactGM is building the new Bolt's battery from CATL cells in Kansas, then plans to stop making the car entirely after about 18 months.
The second-generation Chevrolet Bolt was unveiled on October 9, 2025 and has been built at GM's Fairfax plant in Kansas City, Kansas since January 2026 as a 2027 model. Based on the previous Bolt EUV, it comes only as a subcompact crossover, so the EV and EUV suffixes were dropped. Its 65 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with cells from CATL, gives an EPA-estimated 262 miles of range, and it charges at up to 150 kW through a NACS port. GM has announced that production will end in mid-2027 after a planned 18 months.
