FactBYD pulled the Sealion 7 from its own Chinese lineup in 2026, two years after launch.
The BYD Sealion 7, sold in China as the Sealion 07 EV, is a battery electric mid-size crossover SUV built by BYD Auto since 2024 on the e-Platform 3.0, and the first of BYD's Sealion family of Ocean Series SUVs. It was introduced at the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show, launched at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show and went on sale in May 2024, benchmarked against the Tesla Model Y. Outside mainland China it went on sale in Hong Kong in September 2024 before Asia and Europe. It comes with a single rear motor or with an added front motor for all-wheel drive, and it was removed from BYD's Chinese line-up in 2026.

Owning one
We don’t estimate running costs for a car like this. What it costs depends on its condition, its specialist and how it is driven, and an average would mislead.
