FactBYD's first plug-in hybrid wears four different names abroad, from Uzbekistan's Chazor to Latin America's King.
The BYD Destroyer 05 is a plug-in hybrid compact sedan, BYD's first PHEV in its Ocean Series, unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2021 and on sale in China from March 2022. Heavily based on the Qin Plus, it uses the DM-i system with a 1.5-litre engine, an E-CVT and front-wheel drive. It is sold as the BYD Chazor in Uzbekistan, the BYD King in Latin America and the BYD Seal 5 DM-i in Southeast Asia; Chinese production ended in 2025, when the Seal 05 DM-i replaced it, while export production continues.
