The iX (model code I20) is a battery electric mid-size luxury crossover built at Dingolfing since July 2021, previewed by the Vision iNext concept at the 2018 LA Auto Show. It was BMW's second fully electric vehicle after the i3 and the first with its fifth-generation eDrive system, using an aluminium spaceframe with carbon-fibre-reinforced side frame and roof frame, and was the first car with iDrive 8. A facelift for the 2026 model year, released in January 2025, brought the xDrive45 and xDrive60 with more range and power. The M60 and M70 are a separate M Performance model.

The iX bonnet is fixed shut: the washer bottle is filled through the BMW roundel above the grille.

The BMW iX hides its windscreen-washer bottle somewhere unexpected: it's accessed through the BMW emblem on the nose, not under the hood.
